Teradata Managed Server Cabinet - Server Management Network Topology

  • The server management network enables overall system monitoring and control.
  • The server management network uses two 24-port Ethernet switches for the primary and secondary server management network connections.
    • Each cabinet contains a primary and secondary Ethernet switch.
    • Each managed chassis connects to the primary and secondary Ethernet switch in the cabinet.
    • Each primary and secondary Ethernet switch in the cabinet connects to the server management network of the system.

  • A fully-configured, multiple-purpose Teradata Managed Server cabinet is shown in the figure. Single-purpose cabinets and cabinets with fewer components retain the same cabling protocol.
