Before you install the MDS Action Processor, install the MDS Core package (mdsbase) on the system you are using as the DIM Update server.
  1. Use the PUT utility or mdsapinstall command to install the MDS Action Processor (mdsap) on the DIM Update server.

    The MDS Action Processor supports scheduled recovery and Audit logging.

    The MDS Action Processor files are installed in the following directory:
    • MDS_installation_directory/bin
    where MDS_installation_directory is /opt/teradata/mds or a nonstandard location, if that option was selected when the MDS Core package was installed.
    The MDS Action Processor starts automatically when the system starts. You can also start it manually by running the following script:
    • /etc/init.d/mdsap start
