For every node of every Teradata Database system that is to be loaded into the MDS repository and tracked with the Automatic DIM Update feature, RSG must be installed, RSG vprocs must be configured, and RSG vprocs must be running.
On Windows, when you install Teradata Database or use the version switching program, the RSG component is installed. You do not need to install the component.
On Linux, you must install the RSG package on the appropriate nodes.
You must edit the RSG configuration files to indicate where the DDL Gateway is installed and which node is the RSG master node.
You must create and configure the RSG vprocs.
