If the system does not have an existing MDS repository created from an earlier version of MDS, create one:

  1. Log on to the workstation as the root user.
  2. Run one of the following programs:
    • To create an MDS repository without versioning support:

      /opt/teradata/mds/bin/metacreate

    • To create an MDS repository with versioning support:

      /opt/teradata/mds/bin/metacreate -v

    The name of the MDS repository must be a non-Unicode name.
