The SQL Inserter operator is a consumer operator inserts the data into a Teradata Database table. An SQL Inserter operation is similar in function to a BTEQ import operation.

The SQL Inserter operator supports multiple instances and each instance can log one or more SQL sessions. Multiple, parallel instances can be used to improve the performance of loading data records into a target table on Teradata Database. The target table can be an empty table or a table with existing data in it.

If multiple sessions are used and the data has duplicate primary index values, this could result in a potential Teradata Database deadlock 2631 error. To avoid this error, do not use multiple sessions with the TPT SQL Inserter operator.

The following figure shows the SQL Inserter operator interface.
