Systems with an SR1625 System VMS and more than 64 disk arrays, or an R1208 System VMS and more than 128 disk arrays, require dedicated Enterprise SWS hardware (rather than a VMS with an SWS virtual machine). For systems that use dedicated Enterprise SWS hardware, the SWS hardware resides in a Platform Framework Cabinet.
  • Adapter connection to server management network
  • SLES 10 SP3 operating system
The level of service depends on the service agreement between Teradata and the customer.
Although Dell T610 SWS workstations are not installed in a PFC cabinet at the factory, Dell T610 SWSs can be installed in a PFC cabinet at a customer site.
Enterprise Viewpoint Server Teradata Dell R710 or Dell R720 server that hosts the Viewpoint portal that contains portlets for customer management of the Teradata Database. Systems with more than 128 nodes require dedicated Enterprise Viewpoint hardware (rather than a VMS with a Viewpoint virtual machine). For systems that use dedicated Enterprise Viewpoint hardware, the Viewpoint hardware can reside in a PFC cabinet.
  • Adapter connection to server management network
  • SLES 10 SP3 operating system
Keyboard, Video, Mouse (KVM) Console If the system has a VMS in a PFC cabinet, the rackmount KVM resides in the PFC cabinet and has VGA and USB connections to the VMS.
