Each time a SQL statement is executed, it returns a code to communicate whether the statement executed successfully or not. Define an area to receive these codes.
When precompiling applications under:
- Teradata mode (by setting the TRANSACT option to BTET, COMMIT or 2PC), define a communications area using the INCLUDE SQLCA statement.
- ANSI compatible mode (by defining TRANSACT as ANSI), use the SQLCODE and SQLSTATE variables to receive feedback information.
Do not mix program status communication areas between Teradata and ANSI compatible modes.
