Area Option Description
Component Tree Label Names Indicates the component label that displays in the Tree View. From the list, you can select one of the following options:
  • Default: Displays the default names of components in the Tree View.
  • Alias: Displays component default aliases in the Tree View. If a user-defined alias exists, it displays instead of the default alias.
  • Component ID: Displays the Component IDs of components in the Tree View.

Default is selected by default.

Client Connections Prompt for connection settings Specifies whether to display the New Connection dialog box.

The check box is cleared by default.

Connection Names Indicates the component name or ID that displays in the Tree View. From the list, you can select one of the following options:
  • Default: Displays the default names. The path reflects the position the component occupies in the hierarchy.
  • Alias: Displays default alias names. If a user-defined alias exists, it displays instead of the default alias.
  • Component ID: Displays the Component ID names.

Default is selected by default.

Command Output Window Automatically scroll output Indicates how the output displays when the Command Output Window opens. Do one of the following:
  • Select the check box if you want the scroll bar to automatically scroll to the most recent line of output.
  • Clear the check box if you want the first line of output to always display.

The check box is cleared by default.

Alert Viewer Prompt for Alert Viewer settings Specifies whether to display the Alert Viewer Options dialog box to prompt for settings for the Alert Viewer. If the check box is not selected, the Alert Viewer displays with the default settings.

The check box is selected by default.

Event Viewer Prompt for Event Viewer settings Specifies how to be prompted for the Event Viewer settings. Do one of the following:
  • Select the check box to open the Event Viewer Options dialog box, enabling you to change the settings.
  • Clear the check box if you want the Event Viewer to display the last settings used.

The check box is selected by default.

Maximum Table Size Sets the maximum number of events displayed in the Event Viewer. When the maximum table size is reached, a dialog box reports that older events have been removed. Approximately one-third of the events are removed from the table.
From the list, select the maximum number of events to be displayed:
  • 2,000 events
  • 5,000 events
  • 10,000 events
  • 20,000 events

2,000 events: This is the default, and optimum level. Changing it may affect system performance.

Summary Alert Viewer Maximum Table Size Sets the maximum number of rows displayed in the Summary Alert Viewer. When the maximum table size is reached, a dialog box reports that older alert summaries have been removed.
From the list, select the maximum number of alerts to be displayed:
  • 2,000 alerts
  • 5,000 alerts
  • 10,000 alerts
  • 20,000 alerts

5,000 alerts: This is the default, and optimum level. Changing it may affect system performance.
