You can use the Multi Select window to select multiple components and issue common commands instead of selecting individual components from the Tree View. The Scan button gives you the ability to narrow down the multi-select operation by collective and cabinet ranges.
  1. Do one of the following to open the Multi Select window:
    • Select Tools > Multi Select.
    • From the toolbar, click Multi Select.
  2. Select any of the following options:
    Option Description
    Filter by system Issues a command for selected components in one or more selected systems. When you select this check box, you must select one or more systems to run the function across the selected components. When the check box is cleared, the function is run across the selected components for the entire Server Management domain.
    Select the type Lists components that can be selected as a group. Only the components installed in the system are listed.

    If you select only a Type, the command is issued on all sub types listed in Filter by sub type.

    Filter by sub type check box Select to filter the component by sub types.
    Filter by OERole check box Select to filter the component by the OE Role.
    Select the collectives
    • All collectives: Issues a command for the selected components in all collectives.
    • Individual collectives and/or ranges (e.g. 1,3,5-12): Issues a command for the selected components in one or more collectives. Enter one or more component numbers or a range of numbers. If you enter more than one number or range, separate them by commas, with no spaces.
    • [Optional] If you select individual collectives or ranges, click Scan to select the collectives to run a function on. If there are many IDs, use any of the following controls to more easily work with IDs:
      • Click Select All to select all the IDs listed, and then select Insert.
      • Select an ID, click Select Every Other to select every other ID in the list, and then select Insert.
      • Select one or more IDs, click Inverse to select the opposite order of IDs in the list, and then select Insert.
      • Click Clear to clear all IDs in the list.
    Select the cabinets
    • All cabinets: Issues a command for the selected components in all cabinets.
    • Individual cabinets and/or ranges (e.g. 1,3,5-12): Issues a command for the selected components in one or more cabinets. Enter one or more component numbers or a range of numbers. If you enter more than one number or range, separate them by commas, with no spaces.
    • [Optional] If you select individual cabinets or ranges, click Scan to select the cabinets to run a function on. If there are many IDs, use any of the following controls to more easily work with IDs:
      • Click Select All to select all the IDs in the list, and then select Insert.
      • Select an ID, click Select Every Other to select every other ID in the list, and then select Insert.
      • Select one or more IDs, click Inverse to select the opposite order of IDs in the list, and then select Insert.
      • Click Clear to clear all IDs in the list.
    Select the function Lists the commands that can be run on the selected components.
  3. Click Run.
