Systems, collectives, cabinets, and chassis are assigned numbers in the Tree View during the initial configuration of the system.
System | There can only be one system number per Server Management domain. |
Collective | Collective numbers must be unique within a Server Management domain. |
Cabinet | Cabinet numbers should be unique within a Server Management domain. An override option is available for backward compatibility. See the Teradata Server Management Web Services Configuration Guide, B035-5351. |
Chassis | Chassis numbers must be unique within a cabinet. They are normally numbered in a pre-determined manner per cabinet. A chassis type might have a different chassis number, depending on which cabinet type it is in. Chassis numbers cannot be changed. |
VMs | VMs are assigned numbers through the CMIC Configuration file, just like any other chassis. They are typically assigned numbers in the higher range to distinguish from physical chassis. |
