Query Banding is a feature introduced in Teradata Database 12.0 that allows an application to associate metadata with each query when it is executed. Query bands enable you to set your own unique identifiers on a Teradata session, a transaction, or both (in separate requests). Each query band is a set of user or application-defined name:value pairs that the system passes to Teradata Database as a literal string. Use query bands to support administrative tasks such as debugging, workload management, grouping of requests, and more. For more information, see SQL Data Definition Language Detailed Topics.
