  1. In the Data Source Explorer or Navigator, click "" .
  2. From Connection Profile Types, select Aster .
    1. Type a Name to identify the connection profile.
    2. [Optional] Type a Description of this Connection Profile.
    3. Click Next.
  3. Select Aster Database and click Next.
  4. Do the following:
    1. Select a driver from Select a driver from the drop-down or create one:
      1. Click "" .
      2. Select the External JDBC Driver template for your system type.
      3. In Driver name, enter a unique name for the driver definition.
      4. On the JAR List tab, click Add JAR/Zip to add the list of JDBC driver JARs.
      5. On the Properties tab, edit the JDBC driver properties.
      6. Click OK.
    2. [Optional] Select the Set Up SSO Connection check box to create a connection to an SSO-enabled Aster database server.
    3. In Database Server Name, type the host name running the Aster database.
    4. Enter the User Name for the connection.
    5. Enter the Password for the connection.
    6. Accept the default Port Number or type a different port number.
    7. In Database Name, type the name of the database to which this profile connects.
      Your connection requires that a default database be set when a user logs on. The default database for Aster Database is beehive.
    8. Select Save Password to save the password.
      The password is valid for the workbench session.
    9. If you selected Set Up SSO Connection:
      1. Enter the KDC.
      2. Enter the Domain Name.
      3. Enter the Service Name.
      4. Click Browse and add the location of the JAAS Login Configuration file.
    10. In JDBC Connection Properties, accept the default properties or add and remove JDBC connection properties to specify the connection details for the profile.

    11. [Optional] Click Cache Properties to open the Schema Cache Properties dialog and select the schemas to cache.

    12. [Optional] Click Delete Cache Files and confirm to delete cache files.
    13. Specify when to connect:
      Option Action
      Connect when the wizard completes Connect to the database when you complete the profile.
      Connect every time the workbench is started Connect to this database each time you launch the workbench.
  5. Click Next to view the Summary information.
  6. Click Finish to create the connection profile.
