The Data Lab View supports drag and drop of table objects from Data Source Explorer. When you drop a table into the Data Lab View, the Data Lab Copy Wizard opens.
The Copy Wizard is not provided in Teradata Studio Express.
Using the wizard you can specify data filters to determine which columns and data to copy to the Data Lab. You can also lock the table while you are transferring data using the Lock Table option.
The Copy Wizard displays the following dialogs:
Dialog Name | Description |
---|---|
Copy Table | Displays the database and table name of the data source and destination. Use this screen to verify that the copy information is correct. If you are copying to a new table, you can select the Copy Data option to copy the data when the new destination table is created. Clear this option to create an empty table. If you are copying to an existing table in the Data Lab, you must specify whether you want the data appended to the existing data or to replace all existing data with the source table data. |
Filter Table | Enables you to select which columns in the source table to copy to the Data Lab table. After you select a column, you can refine the copy operation by specifying which data in that column to copy. The default is to transfer all data. |
SQL Preview Filter Table | Displays the generated Data Definition Language (DDL) script that copies the source table to Data Lab. The copy job can be run by clicking Finish. |
