Teradata Studio/Studio Express 20.00.00.10 and above requires Java version 21 only.
Previous versions (20.00.00.09 and earlier) were certified with Java versions 11, 17, and 22.
- Apple macOS requires Java Development Kit (x86 64-bit based JDK) version 21.
- Apple macOS (Apple Silicon M1 and M2) requires Java Development Kit (ARM64-based JDK), version 21. Alternatively, an x86_64-based JDK can be used, but it is less efficient and runs using Rosetta.
- All other operating systems require Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 21.
From Teradata Studio/Studio Express version 20.00.00.10, the VBScript dependency no longer exists in the Windows installer. Previous versions required enabling VBScript on Windows 11 version 24H2 and later systems.
Starting with Windows 11 version 24H2, VBScript is available as a Feature on Demand (FOD) and may not be enabled by default on all systems. If you encounter installation issues related to VBScript on Windows, make sure you enable VBScript in Windows Features before proceeding with the Teradata Studio/Studio Express installation.
