You must be a site administrator to work with standard backups or snapshots. Also, you cannot manually delete a backup saveset from the Vantage Console. The backup retention policy will automatically delete the expired savesets.

In the Vantage Console you can protect a standard backup or a snapshot to prevent deleting it. The retention policy does not apply to a protected backup.

From Vantage Console you can have only one protected standard backup at a time . You must remove protection from an existing standard backup before protecting a different one. However, you can raise a request to protect multiple backups from the back-end.

You can have multiple protected snapshots

  1. Sign in to https://cloud.vantage.teradata.com.
  2. Select Data protection .
  3. Select Retained copies.
  4. For the standard backup or the snapshot to protect, select , then Protect.
