The snapshots are currently available both for same-site and cross-site restores on VantageCloud Enterpriseon AWS and Azure and only same site restore on GCP. Also, you must be a site administrator to work with snapshots.
Using the Snapshots you can create below data protection job types:
  • Snapshot: Snapshot is a point-in-time copy of the full system, which can be created faster and with less disruption than a traditional backup
  • Snapshot (DR): Snapshot (DR) is a snapshot for disaster recovery stored on a DR account

Snapshots are full system backups only, not object-level backups. Creating and restoring snapshots is much faster than creating and restoring standard, full-system backups at the object level. Using snapshots enables more frequent backups of the entire system and faster full-system restores.

Snapshots are only valid on the same cloud platform and VantageCloud Enterprise system from which the snapshots were created and within the same region.

Snapshots are ideal for full-system backups for full system data recovery.

Performing a snapshot requires a brief system outage. Snapshot restores can take a few hours to half a day, depending on your system configuration.
