SCIM provisioning requires a dedicated SCIM Admin User: a service -level account the SCIM server uses to run user lifecycle operations within your Teradata environment. Your database administrator must create this account before configuring SCIM. Teradata does not create or manage this account on your behalf.
Teradata provides the SCIM infrastructure and endpoint, but make sure to do the following:
- Create the SCIM Admin User account in your Teradata database. This way your organization retains full visibility and control over the credentials.
- The account is subject to the password governance and rotation policies of your organization.
- Make sure not to share or repurpose this account.
- Monitor SCIM sync status to detect authentication failures caused due to expired or changed credentials.
