Who: system administrator or database administrator

Federated authentication on VantageCloud Enterprise allows for single sign-on (SSO) capabilities, enabling users to log on to supported applications with a single set of user credentials. These applications include Teradata Studio, Teradata Viewpoint, Vantage Console, and third-party tools such as COGNOS.

Your organization must have a supported identity provider (IdP): Okta, Ping Identity, or Azure AD.

For new customers, Teradata enables SSO during provisioning. If you are an existing customer and don't yet have SSO, submit a change request for Teradata to enable it.

Then work with your system security or cloud administrator to configure SSO and test it. By default, SSO configuration is self-service. If you need help, the Teradata Center for Enterprise Security team that is part of Teradata Professional Services is available. This is an optional add-on service.

Single sign-on in VantageCloud Enterprise supports the following federation standards:
  • OpenID Connect
  • SAML
