The Viewpoint portlets available for monitoring in the VantageCloud Lake environment are specifically designed to monitor the primary cluster. It's important to note that these portlets do not currently support monitoring of the compute cluster, and OFS Storage is not included in the monitoring capabilities for VantageCloud Lake.
When adding the primary cluster of VantageCloud Lake to the monitoring system, the process is similar to adding any other Teradata systems. For more detailed instructions on this procedure, you can refer to the Teradata® Viewpoint User Guide.
During a Blue/Green upgrade, the behavior of BYOVP remains consistent as there are no changes in the Sessions Manager's public IP address. The following Viewpoint portlets have been verified for compatibility with the VantageCloud Lake environment
Parent Group | Supportability on VantageCloud Lake | Portlet Name |
---|---|---|
Session Management The QueryGrid is a native cloud component on the VantageCloud Lake architecture. So, BYOVP for VantageCloud Lake does not support QueryGrid Query Monitoring.

Workload Management | Supported TASM rulesets may be applied to Primary Cluster workloads only. The architectural changes in a VantageCloud Lake may obsolete some workload management strategies. See Managing Your Workloads for more details. By default, the administrator logins (TDWM user) are disabled on VantageCloud Lake. To use Workload Management, enable the administrator login for TDWM user. |

Utilities The VantageCloud Lake Console already has the SQL Client to run the queries of VantageCloud Lake Environment. So, the SQL Scratchpad can be alternative.

Applications | Supported | Data Labs As part of the BYOVP, you can bring your own Data Lab to lake (BYODL). Data Labs portlet including the existing DataLabs API (with API Extensions) supports only for the primary cluster of the VantageCloud Lake. You can perform the following actions for Data Labs using the Viewpoint portlet:
Provisioning and configuring lab groups, deleting, and editing a lab, increasing, or decreasing Lab sizes, and generating reports with verified REST APIs. |
