Use analytic compute clusters for compute-intensive analytic workloads. Because of the following limits on an analytic compute cluster, more memory and CPU are available for running the analytic workloads, reducing resource contention with other workloads.
  • Up to 10 concurrent queries.
  • Up to 3 concurrent queries that call the APPLY table operator.

    The APPLY table operator must run on an analytic compute cluster.
