In Vantage, databases and users are uniquely-named permanent spaces that store objects like tables, indexes, procedures, other databases and users.
- Databases are logical repositories for database objects, privilege definitions, and space limits.
- Users are the same as databases except they are active repositories that log on with a password and establish a session.
You must create users and define their database resources and privileges before they can access the VantageCloud Lake Console and databases. Users acquire some privileges automatically, but you must grant, give, or assign others. Privileges can include the right to manage privileges for other users.
