For a database that is not in a Datalake, HELP DATABASE displays the attributes, sorted by object name, for all tables, views, join indexes, SQL procedures, user-defined functions, and macros contained by a specified database.

For a database in a Datalake, HELP DATABASE displays the names of the tables in the database.

ANSI Compliance

This statement is a Teradata extension to the ANSI SQL:2011 standard.

Required Privileges

You must either own the database or have at least one privilege on that database.

Use the SHOW privilege to enable a user to perform HELP or SHOW requests only against a specified database.
