The following are the minimum requirements to install Vantage Express:
Requirements Description
Hardware 64-bit processor with Virtualization Technology (VT) Extensions

Windows, Linux, or Intel-based macOS

BIOS Must be configured to support virtualization
Space & RAM Minimum 40 GB free space and enough RAM to dedicate one core and 6 GB RAM to the virtual machine
Image Vantage Express 20.00, which includes the following:
Vantage Express database, which includes these preinstalled analytic packages:
  • Bring Your Own Model (BYOM)
  • Vantage Analytics Library (VAL)
  • API Integration with AWS SageMaker

The image does not include Channel Connect and Teradata Virtual Storage (TVS). Teradata disks in the VM image are files on the host system and TVS is disabled.

Use the VMware workstation player to run these files.

Database The image contains one PE and two AMPs with two virtual disks that support 80 GB database size and 6 GB RAM.
Viewpoint Viewpoint is used to monitor the workload of the database. The Viewpoint image contains two virtual disks. The Teradata database can be added to the Viewpoint monitored system. The following two versions of Viewpoint are available:
  • Viewpoint 25.11 on SLES 15 SP6, uses 2 CPU and 32 GB RAM
  • Viewpoint 17.10 on SLES 12 SP3, uses 2 CPU and 8 GB RAM

Use the VMware workstation player to run these files.
