There are two options for backing up and restoring your data:
Option | Description |
---|---|
Backups | Restore tables, databases, and full system-level data; available in the new Vantage Console and classic Console. Request object-level (table or database) restores when performing a backup restore. |
Snapshots | Restore data at the full system level only. This is the preferred method for full-system backups for disaster recovery purposes. Only performed in cases of serious data loss or corruption event. A full system reset and restart is required
The availability of this feature is currently limited. Contact Teradata for more information.

- Change in backup policy (Classic Console only)
- Create new backup jobs (Classic Console only)
- Restore from a backup (both Classic Console and Vantage Console)Snapshot restores require a brief system outage.
By default, Teradata backs up your site daily and retains the two most-recent successful, full backups in the same cloud region.
