Data Mover REST service has HTTPS enabled by default and you can make REST calls over HTTPS after a Data Mover VM is provisioned.
You can use Teradata Data Mover to move data:
- Between Teradata Database systems in the public cloud
- From a Teradata on-premises system to the public cloud
- From the public cloud to a Teradata on-premises system
- From an on-premises Hadoop system to a Teradata system in the public cloud
- From a Teradata system in the public cloud to an on-premises Hadoop system
- From an on-premises Aster system to a Teradata system in the public cloud
- From a Teradata system in the public cloud to an on-premises Aster system
- From Teradata IntelliCloud to the public cloud
- From the public cloud to Teradata IntelliCloud
To move data, you deploy a Data Mover VM. Next, you log in to the Data Mover VM and configure the VM if needed. Finally, you move data between the source and target systems. See the Teradata® Data Mover User Guide.
