Teradata deploys a default VNet with a single subnet, but also provides the option to use an existing VNet in the same region.
If you choose to use your company’s own VNet, follow these guidelines:
- Define a single Teradata subnet that has enough available IPs for each Teradata node. For example, an eight-node system requires 16 IPs, eight primary and eight secondary IPs.
- TPA (database) nodes require two IPs per node. Other Teradata components, such as Viewpoint, require one IP per node from the same subnet.
