Administrator This is only applicable if you are configuring ServiceConnect on CMIC.
The optional Policy Server software component may be acquired from Teradata Customer Services and installed in the customer environment. It allows the customer to control who has remote access to systems via ServiceConnect, and controls when, as well as which data can flow to the Teradata backend. The Policy Server can also provide an audit log of activities on the customer Gateways. The Policy Server configuration in Server Management sets up the Gateways on the CMICs to connect to a Policy Server when required by the customer.
Set control for accessing the policy server as follows:
- In the Web Client, select
> Settings > Policy Server. - Select Enabled to enable a Policy Server, then complete the settings:
Setting Description Host The host IP address or host name of the Policy Server Port 8009 - To help secure the network connection, select Use SSL.
- Enter a Cipher Suites name, or ALL.
- If host validation is required, select Validate Host.
- If the Gateway must go through a Proxy Server to access the Policy Server, configure an HTTP or SOCKS Proxy as follows:
- To set HTTP Proxy, select Enabled and complete the settings:

- To set HTTP Proxy, select Enabled and complete the settings:
- To require HTTP proxy credentials, select Use Authentication Credentials, then type Username and Password.
- To require HTTP proxy credentials, select and type Username and Password.
- If host validation is required, select Validate Host.
- To set SOCKS Proxy, select Enabled and complete the settings:
Setting Description Host The host IP address or host name of the policy server Port Set this to match the SOCKS Proxy configuration - To require SOCKS proxy credentials, select Use Authentication Credentials then type Username and Password.
- If host validation is required, select Validate Host.
- Click Apply.
