Snapshots are full system backups only, not object-level backups. Creating and restoring snapshots is much faster than creating and restoring standard, full-system backups at the object level. Using snapshot backups enable more frequent backups of the entire system and faster full-system restores than with standard backups.
Snapshot backups are only valid on the same cloud platform and VaaS system from which the snapshots were created and within the same region.
Snapshots are ideal for the following use cases:
- Full system backups for full system data recovery
- Full system backups for disaster recovery
