  1. To download the software, go to https://downloads.teradata.com.
  2. Download Teradata_Database_Major.Minor.Patch.Efix.ova.
  3. Deploy the OVA file through the vSphere Web Portal using the option Deploy OVF.
  4. Attach a network adapter to use as your public adapter.
  5. Power on the newly deployed VM.
  6. Attach two pdisks of the same size between 100 GB and 3 TB.
    If you attach the wrong size disks, two different size disks, or more than two disks, remove the disks and reboot the system.
  7. When the DHCP IP address is acquired, SSH into the node using the following credentials:
    root
    iumb123
  8. Enter tdvm-init.
  9. When prompted, enter a valid Linux time zone.
    For a list of valid time zones, go to /root/tvme/LinuxTimeZoneStrings.txt.
  10. When prompted, enter a maximum of two NTP servers separated by a comma.
  11. Do one of the following:
    • If the system has been changed by the user, enter the root password.
    • To use the default password, press Enter.
    A status bar indicates the progress before the deployment is complete.
