PrerequisiteViewpoint 17.10.01.00 must be installed using SLES12 SP3.

    Operating System Upgrade

  1. Download the following:
    • TDput rpm (03.09.06.46 or higher)
    • qemu-tools (2.9.0-5.10 or higher)
    • teradata-vmf (05.00.00.21 or higher)
    • kpartx (0.7.1+108+suse.29efb7b-2.16.1 or higher)
    • teradata-osmigration (11.00.01.21 or higher)
  2. Install/Upgrade the downloaded packages on the Viewpoint server.
  3. Download qcow2 image for SLES15 SP2 and place under - /var/opt/teradata/SLES12SP3toSLES15SP2moveop/SLES15SP2image.
  4. Launch TDput.
  5. In the Main screen, select Install/Upgrade Software.
  6. Accept the default options for all screens up to the Media Sources screen.
  7. In the Media Sources screen specify the mounted location of the qcow2 image.
    /var/opt/teradata/SLES12SP3toSLES15SP2moveop/SLES15SP2image
  8. In the Group Nodes screen, verify the node displayed in the right panel has the following settings:
    • System - System0
    • Group - Group0
    • Node Type - VP
  9. If the node settings need to be updated, do the following:
    1. Select the item listed in the right panel.
    2. Click Modify Group.
    3. Make the necessary changes.
    4. Click Submit Changes.
  10. In the Select Packages screen, click SLES Package Differences to activate the Next button.
  11. Accept the default options for all subsequent steps.

    12. Viewpoint Upgrade

  12. Upgrade the software with the latest SLES15 Viewpoint packages from certlist.
