Teradata Viewpoint includes preconfigured roles that cannot be removed from Teradata Viewpoint. Change the following roles according to your needs:
- Administrator
- This role has all permissions and can be assigned to any account. It is recommended that this role be used only by the Teradata Viewpoint Administrator.
- User
- This role is assigned to every Teradata Viewpoint user. It is recommended that this role be set with no permissions.
- TD_SE (Teradata Solution Engineer)
- This role is intended for the Teradata Solution Engineer when that person needs access to system health and metrics. It is recommended that you enable or disable this role, but do not reconfigure it.
- TD_TSS (Teradata Technical Support Specialist)
- This role is intended for the Teradata Technical Support Specialist when that person needs access to your system SQL. It is recommended that you enable or disable this role, but do not reconfigure it.
- TD_WebServices
- This role has all permissions necessary to access enabled web services.
It is recommended that you copy Administrator and User to configure new roles with partial permissions that are appropriate to all users in that role. Each role you create controls access to specific systems, portlets, metrics, settings, and permissions in portlets.
