A reference may be made to a Literal parameter defined in another Variable Creation analysis in the same project. When the analysis that contains the Parameter Reference is executed, the SQL generated for the Parameter Reference is the same as the SQL generated by the referenced Literal parameter. One application of this might be to have a Literal parameter that captures the value returned by a stored procedure call in one analysis, and to have the value of that parameter utilized in another analysis.
When dragging a Parameter Reference into a variable, the following tree element is created.
No default Parameter Reference is provided - use the Properties panel to change it. Double-click on Parameter Reference or highlight and click Properties.
- Analysis — Select an analysis via the pull-down list. Analyses will be limited to Variable Creation analyses in the same project.
- Parameter — Select a literal parameter by name from the pull down list. Parameters will be limited to literal parameters defined in the analysis selected in the Properties dialog.
