Teradata Visual Explain uses two types of connectors to show the relationship between the database objects. These connectors turn the individual icons of the visual plan into an easy-to-understand graphical flow chart. The following table describes the connector types.

| Solid line | The relationships between database objects displayed in the visual plan (for example, a table, a spool, and the result set). These connectors are always on. |
| Dashed line | Spool reuse in the visual plan. To view these connectors, click . |
Clicking on a dashed-line connector changes the line to a solid line. Right-click on a connector to go to the source or go to a target.
Use the menu options to navigate between the steps where the spool is reused.
