The General tab allows you to create a custom query and generate a graph based on your choice of hardware sensors. When you select more than one chassis, the tab contains only the units of measurement and hardware sensors that the selected chassis have in common. For example, two 5600 nodes have more sensors in common than one 5600 node and one 5500 node.
Area / Label Description
# Component(s) Selected The default alias or CIM path for the selected chassis. When a user-defined alias exists, this displays instead of the default alias.
Sensors

(Click the root icon to expand the tree.)

Celsius Specifies the unit of measurement for temperature. When you select Celsius, all available temperature sensors are selected. You can expand Celsius to individually select one or more temperature sensors.
Percent
  • Nodes: Specifies the percent of thermal control on processors. When you select Percent, all processors are selected. You can expand Percent to individually select one or more processors.
  • CMICs: Specifies the percent of space available on CMIC hard drives. When you select Percent, all drives are selected. You can expand Percent to individually select one or more drives.
Graph Options
Graph Title Identifies the name that you want to use for the graph. The title appears at the top of the generated graph.
Time Series Retrieves data for the sensors you selected in Sensors and generates an xy graph that plots the change, as measured in the relevant unit of measurement, over the time specified in Time Options.
Bar Graph Retrieves data for the sensors you selected in Sensors and generates a bar graph that shows the latest measurements for each of the selected sensors within the time specified in Time Options.
Periodic Groups Retrieves data for the sensors you selected in Sensors and uses the setting in Group values into intervals of to cluster data into groups. The query calculates the average value of each group, then plots the average value, instead of all values that made up the group, over the time specified in Time Options.
  • Overlay standard deviation lines: Calculates the standard deviation of each group, and then draws a vertical line through the point, where the bottom of the line indicates the average - the standard deviation and the top of the line indicates the average + the standard deviation.
  • Group values into intervals of: Determines the size of the group. Options are:
    • automatic: Calculates number of days of data available in the CMIC Measurement Database. If less than 30 days, data is grouped in 3-day intervals. If more than 30 days but less than 60 days, data is grouped into 1-week intervals. Between 60 and 120 days, data is grouped into 2-week intervals. Anything more than 120 days is grouped into monthly intervals.
    • 3 days: Groups data by 3-day intervals.
    • 1 week: Groups data by 1-week intervals.
    • 2 weeks: Groups data by 2-week intervals.
    • 1 month: Groups data by monthly intervals.
If the time specified in Time Options is less than the interval, the query clusters all data into one point.
Use delta values Graphs differences, that is, deltas, between measurement data points. This is helpful when two sets of data differ by significant amounts.
Time Options
Do not restrict time Retrieves all measurements stored in the CMIC Measurement Database.
Before this time (inclusive) Retrieves measurements stored before the time specified in Start date.
After this time (inclusive) Retrieves measurements stored after the time specified in Start date.
Between these times Retrieves measurements stored between times specified in Start date and End date.
Within the last Retrieves measurements for one of the following intervals:
  • Day
  • Week
  • Month
  • 2 Months
  • 3 Months
  • 6 Months
