Teradata requires a consistent high bandwidth and predictable low latency within the system network. Bandwidth must sustain between all pairs of nodes in the fabric with high cross-sectional bandwidth.
Traffic blocking or points of congestion that can lead to high latency or reduced bandwidth can impact Teradata performance and reliability.
If network access to a node becomes unavailable for 10 seconds, the node fails, and recovery actions begin using the hot standby node (HSN).
If one of the two networks becomes unavailable, the system stays active on the remaining network without disruption. The performance of the system may be impacted by the reduction in the total bandwidth available to the nodes.
