For Database Engine 20 configuration requirements, the following high-level design constraints are applied to the evaluated components:
- Compute nodes for Database Engine 20 configuration
- Intel Xeon-based micro-architecture
- 1U node
- Solutions with at least three PCIe4 I/O slots
- Storage for Database Engine 20 configuration
- Converged architecture (external storage)
- Supports Block I/O
- Supports shared storage or access model
- Compatible with Teradata OS (SLES) and SW
- At least five 9s of availability (per array or fault-domain)
- Networking for Database Engine 20 configuration
- Sufficient port count for both intra-clique and inter-clique connectivity
- Shared redundant fabric for storage and BYNET message passing layer
- Sufficient bandwidth to extract at least 90% of storage performance or capability
- Sufficient bandwidth for node-to-node (and clique-to-clique) BYNET I/O
