The following high-level design constraints were applied to the ESXi components for the Management Cluster:
- Compute
- Intel Xeon-based Micro-architecture
- 1U Storage Nodes
- Solutions with at least 3 PCIe4 I/O Slots
- Storage
- High-Availability
- Supports Block I/O
- Sufficient capacity for required / mandatory VMs
- Networking
- Sufficient port count for BYNET and CLAN connectivity
- Redundant BYNET connections to each fabric
- Sufficient bandwidth for vSAN and hosted applications (vCenter, Viewpoint, and CMIC)
