By default, a VM stops when a node fails; however, you can configure the system so the VM will automatically terminate instead.
  1. On a Vantage VM, open the following configuration file in a text editor: /etc/opt/teradata/tdconfig/nodestart.yaml
  2. Change the instance state from stop to terminate.
    instance_state: terminate
  3. Apply the configuration to all nodes.
    pcl -send <full_file_name_with_path> <file_path>/
