By default, a VM stops when a node fails; however, you can configure the system so the VM will automatically terminate instead.
- On a Vantage VM, open the following configuration file in a text editor: /etc/opt/teradata/tdconfig/nodestart.yaml

Change the instance state from stop to terminate.
instance_state: terminate

Apply the configuration to all nodes.
