  • Teradata Vantage stack deployment is supported only in China North2, China North3, and China East2 regions because VM sizes Esv3 and ESv4 are only supported in these regions.
  • Teradata Vantage is not available through China marketplace (https://portal.azure.cn). For provisioning and deployment requests, reach out to Teradata Sales/Account teams.
  • Private offers are not supported by Azure China marketplace .
  • Pay as you Go (hourly) model is not supported by Azure China marketplace.
  • Teradata Viewpoint with DataLab is not supported (only support for Viewpoint multi systems, which can be transformed to Viewpoint single system).
  • Teradata IntelliSphere and Individual component purchase are not available for Vantage on Azure China (DIY) customers.

Known Issues

The following is a known issue for Vantage on Azure China (DIY) customers.

  1. Download the tdc upgrade bundle from artifactory: https://tsd.teradata.com/patch/download/94402
  2. Untar the bundle and extract only tdc-azure-all-11.0.6-11.00.06.0r999.noarch.rpm
  3. If vconfig.original is not already present under /etc/opt/teradata/tdconfig/, then take the backup of vconfig.txt as vconfig.original file.
    • cp /etc/opt/teradata/tdconfig/vconfig.txt /etc/opt/teradata/tdconfig/vconfig.original
    • pcl -send /etc/opt/teradata/tdconfig/vconfig.original /etc/opt/teradata/tdconfig/
  4. Download latest rpm to all Database nodes, under /home/azureuser/ directory
  5. Validate the current rpm version installed on the site using rpm -qa|grep tdc-azure-all
  6. Install the rpm: pcl -s rpm --force -Uvh /home/azureuser/tdc-azure-all-11.0.6-11.00.06.0r999.noarch.rpm
  7. Check for the updated version: pcl -s rpm -qa|grep tdc-azure-all
  8. Run the command tdc-feature-init
  9. Run the command to Update HSN Nodes, only if HSNs are available tdc-hot-standby update.

Unable to add DSC server in BAR setup in Viewpoint

Existing barportlets version - 17.10.00.00

DSC version - 17.10.00.01

Upgrade barportlets version - 17.10.00.01
  1. Download barportals-17.10.00.01-1.noarch.rpm from TSS / TSD
  2. Copy/Move barportals-17.10.00.01-1.noarch.rpm file on viewpoint node under /tmp directory
  3. Verify barportlets rpm version using the following command
    1. rpm -qa | grep barportlets
  4. Install barportlets using following command
    1. rpm -Uvh barportlets-17.10.00.01-1.noarch.rpm
