Sample EREP Record

Introduction

TDP logs CP unit and channel errors in hexadecimal format to an error log on the z/OS client.

Access and print the error log by using the appropriate error logging utility, such as the IBM EREP utility for z/OS clients.

Figure 2 shows a sample record returned by EREP. The four‑digit hexadecimal numbers in the left-most column of the record are memory addresses.

The tables in the following subsections describe the format and contents of the EREP record and the CSW sense byte:

  • Record Format “For CPs That Require the CCU Operand in the START Command”
  • Record Format “For CPs That Do Not Require the CCU Operand in the START Command”
  • Sense Data “For CPs That Require the CCU Operand in the START Command”
  • Sense Data “For CPs That Do Not Require the CCU Operand in the START Command”
