DBCHCLN is the CLI routine used to clean up all CLI memory. The following processes take place when the application program no longer needs to use the database.

Application

The application calls DBCHCLN. Calling DBCHCLN should be the last CLI call that the process makes. See DBCHCLN for more information.

DBCHCLN

A dummy DBCAREA is allocated and the DBFDSC function is invoked repeatedly for each session opened by the application until all the sessions are logged off or an error occurs. An error or success message is then returned to the application.

Application

If the return code is not normal, the application makes the appropriate changes and re-submits to DBCHCLN. Otherwise, the application’s ties to the database are gone.
