The Teradata Viewpoint Administrator must assign the Manage Lab Groups permission using Roles Manager for your Viewpoint role.
After a lab group is created, you can change the lab group thresholds and approval controls. Set the thresholds and select approvers for each request type. If no settings are specified, all approval and threshold requests for a lab are sent to the lab group owner by default.
  1. From the Lab Groups table in the Monitoring tab, click next to the lab group, and select Edit.
  2. Click the Approvers tab.
  3. Do any of the following to set thresholds:
    Option Description
    Automatic approval Specify a threshold under Automatic approval so that lab requests that are less than or equal to the size or duration of the setting are approved automatically.
    Lab owner Specify a threshold under Lab owner so that lab requests that are less than or equal to the size or duration, and greater than Automatic approval, are approved by the lab owner.
    Lab group owner Requests with a size or duration greater than the Automatic approval or Lab owner threshold are approved by the lab group owner.
  4. Do any of the following to select approvers for each request type: By default, all requests are sent to the lab group owner for approval. Approvals can be delegated to lab owners or set to automatically approve.
    Option Description
    Automatic approval Select Automatic approval when approval is not required.
    Lab owner Select Lab owner when the request requires approval from the lab owner or lab group owner.
    Lab group owner Select Lab group owner when the request requires approval from the lab group owner.
  5. Click Save.
