The LOB feature includes Binary Large Objects (BLOBs) and Character Large Objects (CLOBs). The two methods used to handle the LOB datatype are inline and deferred. The inline method limits the row size for client to server transfers with a maximum message size of 1 megabyte. The deferred method can send more than 1 megabyte of data.

Note: PP2 only supports the inline method for handling LOB datatypes.
