There are two ways to edit BTEQ scripts and run files:

BTEQ State Command
Invoked Use the TSO command to access a mainframe-attached system editor, or the OS command to access a workstation-attached system editor.
Not Invoked Use any available system editor.
  • Do not use an editor that introduces line numbers into the file.
  • When editing a script or run file from within BTEQ, it might be necessary to increase the size of the region in use for the TSO command to succeed.
