You can back up all of your data in the DBC database with the Backup All option.
Disk size should exceed the size of the entire backup. If the disk to which you are backing up data is full, rerun the configuration script and specify an alternate destination path. If a job fails, it cannot be restarted from the failed mount point.
  1. Start the graphic user interface (GUI).
  2. From the menu, click Task > Backup All. The Launch dialog box appears.
  3. [Optional] Click Verify Script/Save to open and edit the job script. Changing the script file name when you save the Backup All job script is not recommended. If you change the script file name, you must:
    1. Make a copy of the latest defaults file at /etc/opt/teradata/abu_service/defaults before editing the file. Accidental deletion of fields or inclusion of unwanted characters can affect the Appliance Backup Utility server.
    2. Change the JOB value within the [Disk] stanza of /etc/opt/teradata/abu_service/defaults with the new script file name.
    3. Type /etc/init.d/tdabusrv start to start the Appliance Backup Utility server.
  4. Click OK to launch the job.
  5. [Optional] If you received a warning message that a journal table backup was skipped and you are certain that your database has no journal tables, you can modify the job script so that the message does not reoccur. If your database has no journal tables, the backup completes successfully despite the error message. To change the script:
    1. Click Verify Script/Save to open the Script Editor.
    2. Delete the following code:
      ARCHIVE JOURNAL TABLES
      (DBC)ALL,
      EXCLUDE(DBC),
      NONEMPTY DATABASES,
      RELEASE LOCK,
      FILE=JOURNAL;
    3. Click Save.
    You can launch the job with the Backup Selected Objects option.
