You can use the ANALYZE command to validate all records in a backup dataset.
  1. From the menu, click Task > Restore Selected Objects.
  2. In the Restore Object Selection dialog box, select the dataset you want to validate.
  3. Click Build ARC script.
  4. Click OK.
  5. In the Script Options dialog box, enter a job name.
  6. Click Preview to edit the job.
  7. In the Script Editor, replace the lines from RESTORE DATA TABLES through RELEASE LOCK (inclusive) with:
     "ANALYZE ALL, DISPLAY LONG, VALIDATE,"
  8. Click Launch to start the analyze job.

The Analyze job should complete with a success icon for each stream, indicating no warnings or errors. If any stream terminates with a Caution icon , examine the stream log for warning or error messages. The object that generated the warning or error might not be restorable, but the remaining objects are restorable. indicates a critical failure. The entire dataset is not restorable.
