This task describes how to change the detail level of the server log and the client logs.
  1. [Optional] To modify the detail level of the server log:
    1. From the menu, click Task > Configure.
    2. In the Server Configuration dialog box, select a number from the Global Log Setting list. The default is 48. Level 63 provides maximum information, including the messages received and sent from the Appliance Backup Utility server and is the largest file size. The log file is created under /var/opt/teradata/abu_service/service/logs.
  2. [Optional] To modify the detail level of the client log:
    1. Type /etc/init.d/tdabuclient stop at the command line to stop the Appliance Backup Utility client.
    2. Edit the level in /etc/init.d/tdabuclient by including the -v (verbose) level in the command to start the ABU client. Log levels are 32, 48, 56, 60, 62, 63. Level 63 provides the maximum information. The log file abuclient.log is created in /home/abuservice. The next example specifies verbose level 63:
      startproc -s -u abuservice -q /opt/teradata/abu_service/service/bin/abuclient
      -j TCS -s bsrv15 -v 63 -p /home/abuservice
