DateTimeFormat

Starting with ODBC Driver for Teradata 16.20, the default DateTimeFormat DSN option behavior has changed. The new default is AAA, which was previously IAA. This was done for compatibility reasons, in particular, to allow tables and views created using ODBC to be correctly accessed by third-party client tools such as BI applications.

Only the date format can be changed between the default ANSI (A) or alternative Integer (I). In future releases, the option using AAA or IAA will not be visible as the Time and Timestamp setting cannot be modified.

In 16.10 and prior verisons of the driver, DSNs created in Windows or Mac continue to use the previous default of IAA unless it has been modified by the user. Starting with 16.20, the DateTimeFormat setting will specify AAA.

Important: If Time and Timestamp are set to Integer mode, it is forced to ANSI mode regardless of setting in 16.20 or later versions of the driver. If you create a new DSN and your application was expecting to use Integer format instead of ANSI, you can have failures such as an insertion failure due to incorrect data format being used.

Password Entry Removal

Users creating new DSN entries can no longer save any form of password; the “Password” field has been removed from the DSN Setup dialog. Users can no longer save non-Teradata Wallet strings to the DSN. If a DSN entry that was created in a previous release still contains a password, then ODBC Driver for Teradata ignores the saved password value.
