BTEQ:

Basic Teradata Query. A utility that allows users on a workstation to access data on a Teradata Database, and format reports for both print and screen output. A CLI application program used to interact with the Teradata Relational Database Management System (RDBMS). BTEQ commands are used for controlling sessions, submitting Teradata SQL requests, formatting results, and handling output data. BTEQ may also be used to verify the installation of Teradata client utilities.

CLOB

Data Type Provides support for Character Large Objects.

ESRI

Environmental Systems Research Institute, Inc.

ESRI Shapefile

Consists of a main file, an index file, and a dBASE table. The main file is a direct access, variable-record-length file in which each record describes a shape with a list of its vertices. In the index file, each record contains the offset of the corresponding main file record from the beginning of the main file. The dBASE table contains feature attributes with one record per feature. The one-to-one relationship between geometry and attributes is based on record number. Attribute records in the dBASE file must be in the same order as records in the main file.

FLOD

JDBC connection with Teradata FastLoad support.

FastLoad:

Teradata FastLoad utility. A program that loads empty tables on Teradata Database with data from a network‑attached or mainframe‑attached client.

GDAL

A translator library for raster geospatial data formats that is released under an X/MIT style Open Source license by the Open Source Geospatial Foundation.

JDBC

Java Database Connectivity, the Teradata JDBC Driver, and the three-tier architecture that connects client system Java programs to the Teradata Database.

KML

Keyhole Markup Language, an XML grammar and file format for modeling and storing geographic features such as points, lines, images, polygons, and models for display in Google Earth, Google Maps and other applications.

LOB

An acronym for large object. A large object is a database object that is large in size. LOBs can be up to two gigabytes. There are two types of LOBs, CLOBs and BLOBs. CLOBs are character‑based objects and BLOBs are binary‑based objects.

MapInfo

The MapInfo TAB format is a popular geospatial vector data format for geographic information systems software. It is developed and regulated by MapInfo as a proprietary format.

MULTISET tables:

Tables that allow duplicate rows.

SET Tables

Tables that do not allow duplicate rows.

TD

Teradata Database.

TIGER/Line

TIGER/Line Shapefiles contain the geographic extent and boundaries of both legal and statistical entities. A legal entity is a geographic entity whose boundaries, name, origin, and area description result from charters, laws, treaties, or other administrative or governmental action. A statistical entity is any geographic entity or combination of entities identified and defined solely for the tabulation and presentation of data. Statistical entity boundaries are not legally defined and the entities have no governmental standing.
