Running the Teradata QS Viewer or SQL Assistant as a Normal User

Windows security settings may prevent non-administrative users from running the Scheduled Requests Viewer or Teradata SQL Assistant (which optionally invokes Scheduled Requests functions). To allow a normal user to run the Viewer or Teradata SQL Assistant, enable the Create Global Objects privilege for that user. The following procedure explains how.

To Enable the Create Global Objects privilege

1 Click Start>Administrative Tools>Local Security Policy.

2 In the directory view, expand Security Settings>Local Policies>User Rights Assignment.

3 In the list of policy items in the right pane, right-click Create global objects and select Properties.

4 Select the type of user from the list, and click Add User or Group.

The Select Users or Groups dialog box appears.

5 Enter the object names to select.

6 Click OK to save settings and close the Select Users or Groups dialog box.

7 Click OK close the Create global objects Properties dialog box.

8 Close the Local Security Settings dialog box.
